Modifying Fonts and Organizing and Entering Data While Finishing IS101

The LabSim skill I chose is 4.3.4. Modifying Fonts. I have a lot of experience with changing the font and having an essay I write be exactly to a teacher's liking. I love writing, so I took a good amount of English classes, which enabled me to learn this skill. And for Excel, I chose 5.3.5 Organizing and Entering Data. I had an accounting class last semester, and my teacher was telling us if we plan to work in this field, we would have to learn how to use Excel to enter in and organize data. I had one assignment that was in Excel where I had to read and understand the data off of Excel, but that's the furthest it went. I envision myself finishing IS101 proudly, finishing everything to the best of my ability. I have been doing massive amounts of work for this class the past couple of days that I was very behind on, so I am proud I am catching up. But I'm sure I will finish strongly.

First Couple Weeks and Practice Online Safety and Security

My experience in the class IS101 has been interesting so far. I am having some troubles and also some successes. I am having trouble with the LabSim assignments because I can't run them on my CSN laptop. This has caused me to be behind on those assignments because I can't go to school every single day to finish them. I am also having trouble with Professor Wu's indirect way of having us do things, but I am getting used to that. Moving on to the good, I have been enjoying solving these challenges I am facing and living every day to the fullest. I have been very busy with school, work, and making music, but I am starting to slowly find habits to balance everything in a way I want. The skill I will be expanding upon is 1.4.13 Skills Lab: Practice Online Safety and Security. I was always curious as to how to block pop-up ads because I used to watch a lot of shows on my computer and I would get them all the time. When I was searching for ways to do that, I stumbled upon things like clearing my browsing history and blocking third-party cookies. Aside from using them in that situation, I don't have much experience on those subjects. But what I really found helpful is identifying scam emails. I always get emails and text messages like the ones listed in the example asking me to click some kind of link. The assignment helped me get a better understanding of how social engineering attacks work. That's all I have for now until next time, good bye!
